Account Clerk I
The Bullitt County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full Time Account Clerk I. 

General Duties include:  This position serves under the moderate direction of the Director or Finance Administrator.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Perform accounting related clerical duties that require familiarity with basic accounting functions.  Process accounts payable invoices for payment, balance and reconcile accounting records.  Perform complex data entry and related operations in posting accounts receivable payments.  Maintain appropriate ledgers and maintain fiscal records.  Assist in the preparation of payroll.  Review a limited range of source documents, reconcile routine accounting records, enter routine financial transactions into accounting system.  Receive cash, checks and/or money orders and balance receipts and post to accounting records. 

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:  High School Diploma or GED.  Two (2) years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and accounts payable, business administration or closely related field.

Substitution for Education, Training or Experience:  Additional education in the field of Business Administration, Public Administration, Community Health, Public Health, Accounting or Human Resource Management may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.

Starting Salary:  $10.10-$12.41/hr negotiable with additional experience.  Grade 10

Health Environmentalist I

The Bullitt County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full Time Health Environmentalist I

General Duties include:  This position serves under the direction of the Director or other appropriate staff.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Perform work of moderate difficulty while receiving training in the application of environmental health programs and in the enforcement of regulations through formal classroom training and on-the-job experience.  Perform duties with close monitoring by professional supervisory personnel until properly trained to perform functions independently.  Perform regular inspections of tourist accommodations, schools, swimming pools to ensure compliance with state and local regulations pertaining to environmental health, this may include taking product samples and forwarding for testing. Secure water samples; investigate nuisance complaints and other duties related to environmental health.  Inspect food establishments for compliance with state regulations pertaining to sanitation.  Request assistance from supervisors in situations beyond his/her scope of training and experience. Interpret reports generated by the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS)/Graphical Users Interface (GUI) system. Analyze and interpret data regarding test results, inspections results, etc. and present results to appropriate types of audiences.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:  Bachelor Degree from a college or university with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223. 

Special Requirements:  Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. 

Note:  an individual upon employment must become registered under the provisions of KRS 223 to remain a permanent employee per Administrative Regulations
902KAR 8:080.

Starting Salary:  $12.15 - $15.17/hr negotiable with additional experience.  Grade 15

Health Environmentalist II
The Bullitt County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full Time Health Environmentalist II.

General Duties include:  This position serves under the general direction of the Director or other appropriate staff.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Perform work of moderate to complex difficulty in the inspection of facilities, the investigation and resolution of environmental complaints and nuisances. With considerable ability; inspect and provide consultation to establishments or facilities for compliance with state regulations.  Review plans for new construction and modification of regulated facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and makes recommendations for approval or disapproval of plans.  Review plans for on-site sewage systems for residences, institutions and other construction.  Respond to complaints regarding pollution, housing, insect or rodent infestation or other health related problems.  Attempt to solve problems through negotiation; initiate legal action if applicable or refer to appropriate health department personnel. May serve as resource person to health environmentalist/trainee or support staff. Working ability to identify regulatory infractions and recommend corrective actions.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:  Bachelor Degree from a college or university with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223 and one (1) year of experience as a health environmentalist performing inspections.

Special Requirements:  Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. 

Note:  an individual upon employment must become registered under the provisions of KRS 223 within six (6) months to remain a permanent employee per Administrative Regulations 902KAR 8:080.

Starting Salary: $17.41 - $22.01/hr negotiable with additional experience.  Grade 19
